Day 2 woke us with some cool, refreshing temps outside and some AWESOME coffee from the Conoco Gas Station, much to our surprise and delight!
Our first stop was Needles Overlook. The vastness of this landscape seems almost impossible to comprehend. We took full advantage of the stunning landscape and ended up with some pretty awesome selfies and group pics. I mean, how could ya not?!?!
After motoring down the road a few more breathtaking miles we came to Arches National Park. The rugged, drastic, colorful landscape here was a full-fledged fiesta for the eyes, complete with a cold beverage! It was a mighty hot afternoon (dry heat, but hot!) so our hike up to the Delicate Arch required some major amounts of water, determination and patience. Rounding the last, steep corner and seeing the Delicate Arch stretched out like an artist's masterpiece was worth the hike and heat, let me tell ya!!
Back on the road again, savoring the creature comfort of A/C and some more water to drink, we headed towards Captial Reef National Park in Torrey, Utah. The drastic changes in the landscape along the way continued to captivate our imaginations. So, so beautiful!
Maybe next trip out west we can explore the trails of Capital Reef, as this trip it served only as our resting spot for the night. What a gorgeous place it was!
Oh yes, we're LivinLifeJoyfully!!!
